July 11, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) conducted a third set of strikes this week against Iranian targets in retaliation and to hold Iran accountable for its attack against yet another commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz. Ground- and sea-based fighter jets, drones, and warships targeted nearly 140 Iranian military assets with precision airstrikes, including missile and unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) emplacements, Iran’s naval capabilities, ammunition depots, communications facilities, and coastal radar sites. In strikes directed by the Commander in Chief, CENTCOM has targeted over 300 Iranian military assets in three nights this week to deter Iran from attacking civilian mariners and commercial shipping. „Commercial transits continue to move freely through the Strait of Hormuz and, since May, we’ve facilitated the safe passage of over 800 commercial vessels and 400 million barrels of crude oil through the strait,“ said CENTCOM.
